HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT US
Gunter Fire and Rescue was established in the early 1940's. We are located in Grayson County on the southern edge along the border of Collin County. We are a dedicated group of professional men and women who constantly strive to better help the citizens we protect. We are continuously training within our department as well as training with our neighboring departments. We do this in an effort to be able to provide the best protection for the citizens that we protect.
We have one station with four bays that are deep enough to hold two trucks per bay. Our main engine is a 2005 International Four door that has a Compressed Air Foam System onboard. This System allows us to make the water onboard our engine last longer by mixing it with compressed air and a foam concentrate. The engine carries 1000 gallons of water and 30 gallons of foam. We also have three brush trucks, one rescue, one tanker, a command car, and a reserve engine.
We have a high school, middle school and an elementary school operated by Gunter ISD. In our service area we also have a 125 bed nursing home as well as a fully operational grain silo. There is also a fully operational rail line that has 15-20 trains per day that pass through the center of town.
